Returning Odysseus co-composed by Luke Deane and Paul Zaba (2016)
“A point-of-view realisation of Monteverdi’s late opera Il Ritorno d’Ulyssey in Patria.”
Given this mysterious program note, Returning Odysseus is remarkably close to what it claims to be, a live POV-style camera adventure through a world of western notation. So far, two versions of the piece were created, the first in Haarlem in 2015 for the “Musica Globalista” program, and the second in Amsterdam in 2016 for Composer’s Festival at Orgelpark.
